It’s that time of year when things start going crazy.
LinkedIn looks a lot like this lately:
"No more reviews on the search results page?! Scrollable images?!"
"They’re coming for our bullets!"
"Comparison chart crackdown has commenced!"
So let’s talk about what’s really happening, and the lessons we can take from this oh-so-dynamic moment in time:
- Everything is changing. Everything is staying the same. Every year, Amazon tests different things. Most of them don’t stick.
- Whenever you see a new test, ask yourself: if this were to become permanent, how can I adapt to this new reality? There’s no use crying over lost emojis. If you think a few emojis in your feature bullets will make or break your Amazon success, think again.
-
Feature bullet rules aren’t changing, they’re now being enforced with AI. For years Amazon has said not to use special characters, emojis, guarantees, restricted language, etc. Learn what you can and cannot say. Or, relax and work with us – we’ll make sure your listings follow the rules AND convert like crazy.
- New A+ Content comparison chart limit of 1 per listing. Starting September 31st, Amazon will begin automatically enforcing this policy. This is probably the most confounding update of them all, but Amazon didn’t ask my opinion.
Ultimately, it’s Amazon’s sandbox. If you want to play in it, you have to learn to play by their rules.
