What I've learned from building over 4,000 Amazon listings: October 2024 Newsletter

Hello!

I was recently doing some loose calculations, and realized that I've helped launch and improve over 4,000 Amazon listings! That's a LOT of listings.

Here’s what I’ve learned from building over 4,000 Amazon listings:

  • You're wasting valuable real estate. Few sellers take the time to properly develop all of the ways that they can grow their brand - premium A+, brand story, storefront, etc. This failure is costing you money.
  • Differentiation needs to be at the heart of everything you do, from main images to A+ Content. Customers MUST easily understand what makes you stand out as the obvious choice.
  • Simply saying you're better doesn't count as differentiation. If your product isn't different, you'll need to lean into brand and customer to meaningfully differentiate.
  • Clarity is an unsung hero. Confusion leads to friction leads to a very leaky funnel. A confused customer will choose your competitor or won't buy at all.
  • 90% of Amazon sellers put too much significance on keywords, ignoring the even more vital pursuit of creating high-converting content.
  • Lazy imagery won't cut it. Not only must your product images be designed to perfection, but they must also incorporate compelling copywriting if you want to make the sale.

As costs and complexities increase, every detail counts more than ever!

Current Read:

Could this be our generation’s How to Win Friends and Influence People? While Carnegie helps you increase your likeability, the lessons in this book help you leverage that likeability into a connection-driving superpower. It’s packed with all the fun stories you’d expect from a pop psychology book, combined with actionable tips you can apply to your personal and professional life. Highly recommended.

Easy Snack:

In the early days of Marketing by Emma I survived off of bar-shaped foods. I ate so many that eventually even the thought of a protein bar made me sick. This proved to be quite inconvenient during heavy travel and packed days. Finally, after years of searching, my mom turned me on to a bar that I not only tolerate, but actually ENJOY eating. This is my favorite flavor.
