Newsletter December 30, 2020: Thank you
Thank you.
I look back to last year at this time and think about where my mind was, where our plans were set, and what I foresaw for 2020. (In case you want a glimpse into what that looked like, you can read this blog post that I wrote exactly one year ago.) If you're anything like me, that time feels like another lifetime. So much has changed, so many things fell apart, but still, we're able to stand at the doorstep of a new year with enthusiasm, excitement, and gratitude.
In February we started to see how fragile everything was. Plans collapsed. Fear mounted. It felt like we all took a collective breath, and then kept holding and holding and holding it to see what would happen.
We're so fortunate to be able to enter the new year with all of you. It wasn't a given, and it's something we don't take for granted. On so many levels, this year was a test of strength: as a person, as a leader, as a team, as a wife, as a business, as a citizen, as a partner, as a friend, as a family member, as a dog mom, and as a human in this world.
These are the types of messages that always feel like they come out more cliche than sincere, but I hope you know just how grateful we are to be able to be on this journey with you. It's because of you that we're able to enter into 2021 with feelings of hope and possibility. So thank you. Truly.
We have a lot in store for the year ahead. And we also know that all of these hopes and dreams and plans are delicate. But even if they break, should the world throw us another curve ball or life do what life tends to do, we know that we'll be here. Fighting, adapting, and ready to help in whatever way we can.
Sending wishes of health and wellness to you and your family for the year ahead!
With gratitude,
Emma Schermer Tamir
