Parting ways: August 2025 Newsletter

This month, I parted ways, majorly.

Not with a person.

Not with a business.

Not even with a bad habit.

After a lifetime of loyalty, I went full Gen-Z middle part.

Haircuts are already emotional for a curly girl. This felt monumental. I didn’t recognize myself in the mirror.

And yet…almost no one else noticed.
Not even my mom, who’s been looking at my face since the ribbon cutting.

What I saw as a huge, scary change?

Nobody else even blinked.

It reminded me of something I see with businesses all the time:
When you’ve been looking at something the same way for so long, you can’t see it clearly anymore.

Familiarity distorts perception.

That’s why outside perspective isn’t a luxury, it’s essential.
