I'm done. December 2024 Newsletter
And while it’s been one of massive accomplishments and personal growth, I’m also very happy to put 2024 in the rearview mirror.
Every year around this time I like to reflect over the last 12 months - what went well, what didn’t, and how I’d like to change things for the next year. Tim Ferris’ past year review is a great jumping off point for this process.
One of my goals for this year was to get better at celebrating the victories. So as we wrap up this year, I’d like to share some of my highlights:
- Consistently publishing every week on YouTube. PLUS, finally getting monetized at the beginning of December! I wanted to give up so so so many times, but I never did.
- Growing my professional speaking career and joining the board of my local NSA chapter.
- Tackling acute shoulder pain, which I have made great strides towards solving. It’s also made my physical health a major priority now and moving forward.
- Getting interviewed on over 40 podcasts.
- Beginning work on a big, super secret project.
- Fostering some incredible new partnerships.
- Eating some truly epic meals and seeing incredible entertainment with the best company (just one of many reasons why I love living in Las Vegas).
- Walking over 1800 miles.
- Honing my focus and cutting a TON of distractions.
- Traveling for business and pleasure.
- Pickle (our dog) faced some near-death medical emergencies before being diagnosed with a rare, but gratefully treatable, disease. He’s now so so great, and as playful as a puppy!
I’m going into 2025 hopeful, driven, enthusiastic, and also, (as these last few years have taught me) prepared for everything to go spectacularly unexpected.
What are some of your biggest highlights?
And what’s your end of year favorite process for reviewing, reflecting, and goal setting?

Favorite Reads in 2024:
I read 38 books this year (so far). These are my favorites, in no particular order:
- Fun, thought-provoking blend of pop culture, modern society, and psychology.
- Most impactful business book that completely changed how I think and strategize around my goals.
- This book radically transformed how I perceive myself and engage with the world.
While reviewing this year’s list, I realized that great literature was largely absent. I want to change that in 2025. What are some of your favorite books that make savoring every sentence a treat?
Shoulders, Neck, and Body Woes (how I'm fixing them all):
We don’t talk enough about how much desk work can destroy our physical health. I spent the entire year dealing with nearly constant shoulder pain in my right arm. At times it got so bad I couldn’t use a mouse or sleep soundly from it. I attribute my serious improvement to the following, and recommend that anyone who works at a desk to consider adding these to your repertoire (ideally BEFORE you have pain to vanquish):
- If you can only do one thing: Use this 2x/day based on this protocol
- Easy fix for better desk posture
- Iyengar yoga and these props for deeper stretches and opening poses
- Instant trigger point relief
I also pair these practices and tools with frequent breaks during the day, regular walks, pilates, chiropractic care, and therapeutic massage.
